Charterhouse Capital Partners-backed Mirion acquires Sun Nuclear

Charterhouse Capital Partners LLP (“Charterhouse”), one of the longest established private equity firms operating in Europe, announces that its portfolio company Mirion Technologies (“Mirion”), the global provider of nuclear measurement solutions, has acquired Sun Nuclear.
Sun Nuclear provides independent, integrated hardware and software solutions for quality assurance in radiation therapy. Sun Nuclear has a diversified portfolio across customers, geographies, and different types of radiation therapy; its solutions are used in over 90% of US cancer treatment centres, and in over 5,000 global cancer treatment facilities across more than 100 countries worldwide.
Charterhouse first invested in Mirion in 2015 and during its ownership has overseen a significant platform expansion and accelerated transformation of the business. Sun Nuclear is Mirion’s eighth acquisition since 2018, of which six have been in the medical sector.
